The Print Council Aotearoa New Zealand
PCANZ is a member run, national, non profit organisation that promotes contemporary fine art printmaking.
Through workshops, exhibitions, collaborations and exchanges between members and national and international associations, we foster a greater appreciation of printmaking among our members and the wider community.
The PCANZ 2025 Summer School programme has been popular - ONLY A FEW PLACES LEFT! An exciting, immersive week of printmaking and connecting with printmakers from around the country. This year we are thrilled to have two international tutors (from Australia and Canada) alongside our tutors from around Aotearoa.
New Series Small Print 2025 - early call for entries
It's time to start thinking about Small Print, the PCANZ unselected exhibition of A4 prints that tours Aotearoa each year. After five years of coordinating this exhibition, Rosalie Thompson and Julz Henderson have handed over their roles to Gretchen Buwalda and Ali Murray. Another notable change is the early deadline to submit prints for the 2025-2026 series. The deadline is now is 7 March 2025. In the meantime, Small Print 2024 is still underway
Check out the photos and e-catalogue here. The Expanded Field of Print exhibition was a great success. Thanks to the selector, Steve Lovett. Congratulations to those selected. It has been exciting to see all the fabulous work on show from 20 August - 14 September 2024. Thanks also to our members who conducted community engagement activities during the exhibition - https://www.northartgallery.net/upcoming-events-1
Print Rebound Project 2024
A collaborative printmaking exercise encouraging PCANZ members to make contacts with other printmakers and to explore the unusual psychological terrain of working into another person’s artwork while also letting go of any territorial habits and giving another person free rein to interpret the work submitted. Project completion date extended to 29 November 2024.
